The following quality precautions may be adhered to so that your film is acceptable
to the distribution platforms.
- Audio and video outputs and durations should synchronise
- Frame rate should be constant without variation throughout the film
- End-to-End Unified Quality Control systems for Monitoring for Streaming
& Linear Media Software or such other solutions may be used to ensure quality
- Source files should not contain non-programme files
- Aspect ratios should be accurate in either 4:3 or 16:9 format and the file header should describe it
- Progressive scan type must be used without interlace
- Same language must be used throughout the film in audio tracks
- Silent tracks, MOS, M&E, etc. must be removed
- Codecs and file formats may be AVC/H.264, Pro-Res 422 or MPEG -2.
- Resolutions for SD Video may be 640x480 ( for 4:3) and 640x360 ( for 16:9)
- Resolutions for HD Video may be 1280x720 or 1920x1080 (16:9)
- Frame rates may be 23.976 NDF (Non-Drop Frame), 24, 25, 29.97 or 30 fps
- Display aspect ratios may be 4:3, 1.66:1, 16:9, 1.85:1, 2:1, 2.20:1, 2.35:1, 2.39:1 or 2.40:1
- Pop-up captions should be limited to one to three lines at a time
- The synchronisations of captions may be ensured by prior checking, looking at time codes in the beginning, in the middle and at the end.
- All dialogues in the video files require captions in the native language of the content
- The video source and caption files must match
- Zero hour time code should be starting point for all timed text assets
- A caption file matching the metadata language is needed to publish the product to that location
