NIV Films

A movie is categorized as a feature film when it is a full-length movie long enough to be the sole film to fill a film program. Earlier there were shorter films to go with these films like short documentaries, newsreels, etc. and the term was used to indicate the principal film. A feature film should be 40 minutes or more according to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the American Film Institute and the British Film Institute, while another powerful organization, the Screen Actors Guild, specifies the duration as 75 minutes or longer.

The feature films that NIV Productions take up for execution, for giving assistance to execution and for propagation are such films that contribute to the progress of mankind, elevate the viewers to a higher level of appreciation and stand head and shoulders above the run-of-the-mill formula films which are made to appeal to the lower instincts of the common folk. Feature films produced and distributed by NIVP are distinctively above the rest of the lot and always appeal to those who are intellectually and aesthetically more elevated.

A'hr (Kayattam)

Maya, an attractive woman around forty, climbs the Himalayan Mountains with a younger lad Akash. The two possible lovers meet for the first time, though they seem to have known each other virtually. In Sanskrit, Maya means magic or illusion upon which the universe is woven. Our protagonist Maya also refers to the wider mystery of the universe and its masterful manipulation with the human minds: the source of art and violence at the same time. While climbing the mountains, Maya and Akash grow closer to each other. Their fragile happiness and playfulness get into a trouble when a man claims to know the true identity of Maya. In a simplistic reading, the film is a contemporary fable about people in search for their identity and happiness. But Maya in this film also stands for the magic of the universe which creates unexplained complex thoughts and emotions in our minds.
